The Department of Homeland Security is responding to ongoing raids at California farms, which include actions against Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom, while highlighting the issue of unaccompanied alien minors and their apparent exploitation as inexpensive labor in these operations.
This response follows the raid conducted by ICE agents at a marijuana farm in California, with footage of the arrests gaining widespread attention.
“The Biden administration has lost approximately 300,000 unaccompanied children—many of whom have been trafficked and exploited,” the DHS stated on X. “At the marijuana facility in Ventura, California, [ICE] and [CBP] law enforcement rescued 8 unaccompanied migrant children from what appears to be exploitation, violations of child labor laws, and potentially human trafficking or smuggling.”
