Far-left Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez violated House ethics regulations by accepting gifts exceeding $3,700 for her participation in the 2021 Met Gala — which included the now-famous “Tax The Rich” dress — yet she only paid less than $1,000 for these items.
The House Ethics Committee determined that the New York Democrat did not adhere to House guidelines regarding gifts and improperly provided her boyfriend, Riley Roberts, with a complimentary ticket to the exclusive event that cost $35,000 per attendee, as reported by The New York Post.
However, the committee refrained from imposing any formal penalties.
