Oregon Senator Ron Wyden, currently in his fifth decade of service in Congress, has stated that he has no intention of stepping down, despite increasing demands for older Democrats to yield to a new generation of leaders.
Furthermore, Wyden, who will turn 79 in 2028, informed The Associated Press of his plans to pursue another term, expressing confidence in his ability to confront President Donald Trump, as reported by The Washington Times.
“I believe accountability is essential,” Wyden remarked. “However, I think the Founding Fathers envisioned a government that is results-oriented and grounded in common sense, which is precisely what I aim to achieve. I possess the necessary energy to do so.”
